Coastal Training Program Sapelo Island National Estaurine Research Reserve

"Improving decision-making related to coastal resources management at the local and regional levels"

Open the Community Gate

This program was a sequel to Saturday's event.  Doug Talalmy, the keynote speaker, was joined by a panel to discuss what developers, landscape architects, planners and local officials can do to protect and conserve our vital and irreplaceable biological diversity.  The panel focused on establishing and implementing connectivity among our gardens, landscapes and native habitats in the coastal region.

"As gardeners and stewards of our land, we have never been so empowered to help save biodiversity from extinction, and the need to do so has never been so great.  All we need to do is plant native plants!"  Doug Tallamy - Bringing Nature Home
