Living Shorelines

Living Shorelines use plants and other natural materials to stabilize the shoreline, minimize coastal ersosion and maintain coastal processes.  In addition living shorelines enhance the natural shoreline habitat for the benefit of property owners as well as its surrounding ecosystems.  This workshop will target the area of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.  The workshop will focus on case studies of living shorelines with a goal of giving participants a clearer understanding of why and how to develop a living shoreline.  This workshop is geared to coastal land managers, natural resource agencies and planners.
